Welcome to Children on the Green
Our Mission
Children on the Green is committed to quality, developmentally appropriate care and early education for the children of families living or working in the Morristown area. We seek to reflect the diversity of the community in which we are located and are committed to partnerships that support all children and families.
As a reflection of that commitment, we are proud to support the childcare needs of families living in Homeless Solutions, JBWS and Family Promise of Morris County, as they transition to permanent housing. For all our families, we focus on the individual needs of each child and implement a program that supports those needs through a small group experience.
Children on the Green is a licensed, non-profit childcare center that fosters partnerships with home, work and community, for the benefit of the whole child and the family.
Our Educational Philosophy
At Children on the Green, we recognize that children develop at their own individual paces—physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially. Our team of professional staff is trained in best practices in early childhood education. We provide young children with an inviting, stimulating environment full of opportunities to grow and learn more about themselves and the world around them.
Learning is an interactive process for young children. Their thoughts and experiences have a direct impact on their growth and development. Therefore, we offer creative ideas, abundant materials, and caring supportive adults in an atmosphere that builds confidence and sparks imagination. Daily experiences will match the child's developing abilities and challenge the child's interest and understanding.
Teachers will partner with parents to offer culturally sensitive and appropriate caregiving in a program designed to support the unique needs of each child.

Children on the Green is proud to celebrate 30 years of nurturing and empowering young learners. Over the past three decades, we have built a reputation for providing high-quality early childhood education in a caring, inclusive environment. Our milestone anniversary is a testament to the dedication of our teachers, staff, and the families who have trusted us to play a part in their children's early development. As we reflect on the journey that has brought us here, we celebrate not only our past successes but also our continued commitment to supporting the growth and well-being of every child who walks through our doors. Looking ahead, we remain focused on providing a foundation of learning, creativity, and social-emotional development that will shape the leaders of tomorrow.
